Mold infestation can be attributed to a number of factors. One of the largest factors is improper cleanup of water damage such as flooding. Or it could be as simple as a slowly leaking pipe.

Mold spreads much like the seed of a dandelion. One dandelion can take over an entire lawn in a very short period. Invisible to the naked eye mold spores can be spread by air, water, and even human touch. Once you actually start to see mold you already have thousands and thousands of spores.
